Ted spent some of his teenage years in western Montana and because of a conference going on out here this week, we’ll be hanging out in Big Sky Country for a few days.
We flew into Bozeman yesterday and drove an hour south to Big Sky resort. Along the way, we passed creeks and fly fishermen – which go hand-in-hand in this state. One fisherman had his dog with him who was enjoying the refreshing (read: frigid) mountain river water.
Once at the lodge, we took a hike up the mountain that is more traveled by skis in the wintertime than boots in the summertime. But we found some fun paths that are used by mountain bikers…which may explain why we saw lots of people with bikes going up the chairlift…
We came across a group of zip liners sliding across the valley and made a mental note to pursue that before the end of our stay.
When we got back, we tried our hand at some beach volley ball as they have a sand court. What can I say? The Olympics this summer inspired me.
